Privacy Notice
Last updated: 1 September 2026.
Who we are
MB Ventures is the trading name used by Mark Nuttall for an independent strategic advisory practice. Mark Nuttall is the controller of personal information processed for the purposes described in this notice. Privacy and data-protection enquiries may be sent to enquiries@mbventures.org.
Information we may process
We may process business contact details, professional correspondence, information supplied in connection with an enquiry or prospective engagement, records relating to existing professional relationships, and limited technical or security information generated when the website or associated systems are used.
Why we use personal information
Personal information may be used to respond to enquiries, consider or prepare potential engagements, manage client and professional relationships, administer the practice, maintain records, protect the website and communications systems, prevent misuse, establish or defend legal rights, and comply with applicable legal or regulatory obligations.
Lawful bases
Depending on the circumstances, processing may be necessary for steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, for performance of a contract, for compliance with a legal obligation, or for legitimate interests such as operating and protecting the practice, responding to professional enquiries, maintaining business relationships and keeping appropriate records. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider whether those interests are proportionate and compatible with the rights and interests of the individuals concerned.
Sensitive information
Please do not send confidential, privileged, classified, special-category, criminal-offence or investigation-sensitive material by ordinary email unless specifically requested and an appropriate method of transfer has been agreed. Secure exchange can be arranged where required.
Service providers and recipients
Personal information may be processed by service providers used to operate, secure and administer the website, email and business systems, including hosting, security and communications providers. Information may also be disclosed to professional advisers, specialist collaborators or authorities where reasonably necessary for an engagement, to protect legal rights, or where disclosure is required by law.
International processing
MB Ventures operates internationally and uses service providers with global infrastructure. Where personal information is transferred outside the United Kingdom, appropriate safeguards or other lawful transfer mechanisms are used where required by applicable data-protection law.
How long we keep information
Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of the nature of the relationship, contractual and professional requirements, legal and regulatory obligations, security requirements, potential disputes and the need to maintain appropriate business records. An enquiry that develops into an engagement may therefore be retained for longer than an enquiry that does not progress.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to personal information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, or to object to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Rights are subject to applicable legal conditions and exemptions.
Complaints
If you have concerns about how personal information is handled, please contact enquiries@mbventures.org first so that the matter can be considered. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office. Information about making a complaint is available at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and similar technologies
MB Ventures does not currently deploy advertising or behavioural-marketing cookies through this website. Essential technical or security technologies may be used where necessary to deliver and protect the site. If analytics, advertising or other non-essential tracking is introduced later, this notice and any required consent mechanism will be updated before that technology is used.
Changes to this notice
This notice may be updated to reflect changes in the website, the practice, service providers or applicable law. The current version will be published on this page.
